Thread: 300 TDI ENGINE

I have been told by a very reliable and a master of all Landrovers as far as machanical knowledge and repairs go that after a 300 motor has had 2 or 3 head shaves due to overheating that its a waste of time reuseing it as the head developes soft spots internaly and internal cracks will develop that can not be seen by the eye He says that you can have a head tested but its just as cheap to buy a new one.
I first meet this bloke about 7 yrs ago at the time he owned about 300 landrovers from Ser1 to yesterdays Range Rover, the last two visits to Townsville in the past 6 months has seem a lot of the older rusted beyound any further use cleared out and a very large collection of Disco's, Defenders and later model stuff. His st I would love to post pictures but I have promised not to. His sock would now be around 200 again.
He trades as LANDROVER ONLY if any one is ever in the region and needs a good machanic look him up.
