I'd probably agree, if not it's easy to swap them, I'm using a number of eBay $14.00 temp gauges . So far great.
Haven't bought one yet, but i'm looking to install an el-cheapo Ebay LED voltmeter. Seems pretty straight forward, just hoping to get a confirm of the Chinese wire labelling - mainly, I need to confirm which is 12V permanent and which is 12V accessory.
Black is obviously ground. I'm guessing red will go to ACC and white to 12V?

So I bought one with an orange LED display to suit the car (also has higher accuracy)... but it's a four-wire unit so looks like the install got a little more complicated. Will have to wait for it to arrive now - hopefully comes with instructions.
Red to pos
Black to neg
White through a switch, or if you want it to stay on all the time jusy connect the red and white together.
You are correct.
Black neg,
White pos,
Red is the switched pos.

Do a eBay search ( don't worry about search title) for aquarium temperature gauge that look like pic below, scroll down till you see them for around $14.00 or less freight free ..they work unreal ..I have one under the thermostats bolt 3.9 v8 and one clamped to the r380 cooler line. You can set alert buzzers, or fan etc . The prob wire can be extended with twin speaker wire.

Cool, looks good. They obviously run off 12volts? Is the TEMP range suitable as well?
So, u basically set them up to monitor Coolant Temp via heat transfer and the same for the Head and set up alarm points accordingly ?? Do u reckon it would re-act (respond) quick enough to pic up loss of coolant, etc before any damage was done ??
U mentioned "r360 Cooler line"... still learning here, but is that your Transmission Cooler or something else?

Hi, their response reaction is amazing every change In throttle position or terrain the engine temp is constantly changing points of a deg, they work from -50 to 110 deg c .most people set the alarm around 105 deg, or you can set them lower to bring in via a relay acc, fans . I tend to watch gauges a lot and where I have them they are easy to see.
The r380 is the 5speed g/box and "as mine has a cooler" I just clamped it to the oil delivery line ..I.e the hottest. Disco temp gauges are rubbish " lots of threads on that" so for a very small out lay . Why not?
