Old Land Rover pick up - rego with no roof

    G'day everyone

I have brought a old land rover and am about to start restoring it, just got some work shop manuals. I wanted to know if I am able to register it with no cab (roof, windows and back) on it. I am so far ahead of myself but very excited about the project, but wanted to know if I could do this or if it is even legal. Do I need to add a roll bar?

I live in Victoria and it is a Series 2a or 3 Land Rover pick up.

    thanks in advance

You could, but you need to know the year of manufacture.

The problem is that without a roof, there are no top seat belt mounting points, so if it is earlier than the ADR of seatbelts then you can.

Best thing to do would be to get a roll bar made with seatbelt tabs on it so you can fit retractables on it.

    It is possibe.

If you have an ex arm roll cage then it has the seat belt mounts on the roll bar. That is what we have in the misses 90 soft top.
Or the series soft tops in the uk has the seat belts attc to the top of the rear bulk head, as standard

Still wondering if Queensland transport will like this or get a bit arsey about it
