Air Flow Meters

How much are one of these babies worth?

Ive been offered a 93 EFI Disco motor, complete with loom and computer and all accessories which has been fully rebuilt with a 4.6 cam for $500.

All that it needs to get it running well is the Air Flow meter.

This would be to replace the carbed 3.5 in the stage 1

    So any ideas?

    Dave.

    Geez that motor is cheap!!!

I've seen some posts on the RR forum that there is a mob in Melbourne that can repair yours for next to nothing or for $750 a complete recon one.

Its from a good mate whos putting a VN V8 in a Bobbed disco ute, so the price is mates rates, so no onselling but that is bastardish to him.

150? i shall go and find some prices. I would only do it if it was cheap enough other wise i will stick with what i have.

I have been told that there is no one around that can fix the hotwire air flow meters, to hard and I don't think you can get the parts for them, but u can pick them up for about $1200 new and anywhere from $400-800 second hand (just depends where you look).

Me personal, I have been though 3 now (In 3 years), 2x second hand and 1x on ebay

Have a look on ebay in the USA, and you will find some, most people offer 30 day guarantee on them if they don't work, but the freight would kill u

I think also you need to find out what computer you have and match the air flow meter to it, because I think there is a couple of different AFM's, not sure on that though.

i think the reason for the price is due to the fact that the wire is platinum.

it needs to withstand high temp cos it glows white hot to self clean itself.
