Turps or kero does the trick Derek.
Because I'm Internet limited at present. Quick question: what's the best for removing tar without damaging the paint?
I'm referring to tar up-to palm size on paint work not the little flexs

I'd use turps, but someone may come along with a better solution.

SubscriberWD40 is good also, but wash and polish the area after or it attracts every bit of brake dust in the universe.

Thanks. I've got more internet access for now and will get to a store tomorrow for turps or wd40. I thought they were the go but wasn't sure. I'll also get some polish. Going to be a fun time tomorrow morning... Not!

Maybe try eucalyptus or citrus oil - they both work as adhesive removers, some of which are oil based.

I use kerosene. Works well and doesn't damage paint.
