i'm in the process for my 110 tray back, but would be the same for a wagon/hardtop. the main body of the slider is 75 x 50 x 6mm rhs. with heavy wall pipe welded to the outside to act as a nerf bar. The top of the radius is level with the top of the slider so when you step on it, foot stays flat. most important part is to get the mounts right, and strengthen the rear outrigger. go to "outerlimits4x4", Rover section and look for a post titled "strengthened outrigger" this shows pics of my front mounting point at bulkhead/outrigger and what i did to strengthen the rear outrigger. the rear of the slider is attached with 50 x 50 x 5 mm angle front/back of outrigger with 15mm nominal bore pipe welded into the outrigger to act as squish tubes. very, very strong. i mounted them about 5mm lower than the body(after removing the bottom crap bit of, well crap really)and 10mm off the body so if they do end up being bent (i dought it) they won't push up into the doors/body
cheers, serg
Great Work.
mate that is some serious Chassis work, love it.
I think i wont get that excited, but i will look at your design
Here's mine. Purchased from Rovacraft, their own design. Ridiculously expensive (I think they were around $250), but not as expensive as the ones they import from the UK.
Mind you, they have already saved some panel damage once, deflecting the vehicle off a mud bank with quite a heavy impact. The holes fit the standard jack, I also have an adaptor which fits on the hi-lift but I haven't tried jacking off them yet.
