That's a great start.
Betcha used heaps of golf tees blocking off pipes though. Big W I've found are the cheapest for buying them if you need more.
Look forward to future progress updates.

The hoist would be handy in the shed.

I have the easisest way to remove a motor. Me and a couple of friends wanted a motor out of a Morris 1100 for a buggy afew years back.
1 : Wrap cahin around motor.
2 : Hook chain to winch mounted on landcruiser.
3 : Chain morris rear end to big tree.
4 : Activate wich.
5 : Pull motor straight through front end.
6 : Engine out.
Project looks good, I had not contemplated removing the body from the chassis to change a motor. Would give you a good look at the chassis etc and probablly easier than removing the floor pan etc just to get at the gearbox. Is there much involved in doing it this way?
I hope you remember where everything goes when it's in the Rangie :!: .

G'day Guys,
I picked up my RR this morning - hmmm, had a few dramas - but got it home with no real issues:
With the help of a friend and our new engine hoist I proceeded to remove the LT230 transfer box and then remove the engine and gearbox on one.
once removed all parts we degreased - leaving a very nice chassis, for 18 years old!!!
Hoping the weather will hold out tomorrow, so we can remove the TDI engine and gearbox in the same way

Did you have any stability problems with the weight behind the axle?Originally posted by LRHybrid100
G'day Guys,
I picked up my RR this morning - hmmm, had a few dramas - but got it home with no real issues:
I once towed a Falcon 4WD that way behind my Land Cruiser (when I had one) and it was diabolical over about 40mph. It would snake around but i couldn't stop to change it around. I was on the F3 and the Falcon didn't run.
I ended up jack-knifing going down Mooney Mooney and the trailer hit the side of the Cruiser. Fortunately I didn't lose the trailer, the load, or the Cruiser but I sure scared the drivers around me.
