Engel Fridge power cord Wiring Diag, can anyone help
Hi,
I have a Engel 39 litre Fridge that some Twit cut the Ciggy plug off.
does anyone know the polarity of these.
the wires are blue and brown, so a smart bloke would thing Blue was Neg, Brown was Positive.
But it wont risk blowing it up.
I've emailed engel Aust and Japan, no reply.
So who can help me out here?
All i need is a fella to do a continuity test on the plug and socket.
Its the older style cord with 3 pins shapped like this =|
Make sence to those with a Engel??
Regards
Steve

will go out and check for you.
by the way...it should have polarity protection so it wont damage itself...but dont rely on it.

with the plug sitting as above and with you looking into the holes....
the top right is the positive (+ve) terminal
in the lighter plug is a special thermal fuse and a L.E.D. to let you know when the plug is powered up.

Also.... When you re-wire it, stick a proper plug on the end of it to stop it falling out. Don't bother putting another fag lighter on the end, look at something like a "Hella" plug and wire in the appropriate socket.

Steve,
I am going to be putting clipsal 32volt fittings onto my engle next week and will be cutting the old cord off near the lighter socket. I am puzzled why there is three contact points at the fridge and only two wires. I will let you know what wire goes to the middle of the lighter and which to hte outside if you havn't found out by next week. Cheers,
PUllsy
