Bushes on valve rocker shaft
Hi again
I am in the process of ordering parts for my SII petrol engine and noticed that the cylinder head did not have the bushes on the rocker shaft when I took it apart ... What do they do ... And are they needed
Part .. 247614 x 8
Thanks
Craig

You would not necessarily notice these bushes, as they are press-fit onto the valve rockers and would therefore come out as "part of" each rocker. They are harder than the bronze rocker, and are pressed onto the rocker to take the wear as the rocker rotates about the rocker shaft in response to the rising and falling of the cam lobes.
Inspect the inside face of each rocker when you pull it out; you will need to replace any bushes that show signs of scoring or other wear. The faulty bush is pressed out using a press and the replacement bush pressed in (ensure that the oil gallery hole in the rocker alignes with the hole in the bush), with the bush ends trimmed to the sides of the rocker once in place.

I think I see my problem, I thought the bushes went between the rockers, but they are the bushes for the rockers ... The diagram is a little misleading ... Thanks guys
