    Window tint

I have had a bit of a read re. tinting but have a couple of Q's. Is the darkest legal tint good ? Is there a specific type of tint I should be after ? We have Top Tint & Tint A Car around the corner from work. Would anyone recommend one over the other & roughly what is the cost. Thanks a lot.

35% window tinting a good idea?

I was wondering what % window tinting people think would be good. I see the rule in Qld, and I think other states, is tinting must allow at least 35% light transmission. I had been thinking 50% would have been good for the ŕear side and rear window. 35% sounds pretty dark. What do you think?

In my opinion i have the 3M Crystalline tint on my D4 and love it the best tint I've ever had on any car just blocks out so much heat its unreal!! It cost $600 cash for the whole car done i love it and would definitely get it on every car further i own!! Definitely worth the extra $$

Is that 20% plus standard tinting, which could exceed 35%?

    no no.
    20% is darker than 35%

35% plus standard tint comes to about 30%

    0%-35% is illegal
    35-100% is legal.

Not sure what the % is but I have the darkest legal tint that the landrover dealer would fit. Looks good and is great during the day but........ I find at night making sharp turns into dark streets etc it sometimes causes reflections that mean you can't see very well out the side windows.

I made a mental note not to get such a dark tint next time. I had tinting on my other defender and never noticed this before.

I've got 20% on my other vehicle. Including the windscreen . Forget about driving at night

my county has dark tint installed by previous owner in WA, it is probably darker than is legal in NSW on front driver and passenger windows.

It is fine on the side windows but I am considering removing from the rear door glass. The issus the reflection from the front window onto the back. It is really bad at night and a car coming torwards you looks like it is behind you as well.

I got the darkest tint I could get from the dealer here in WA (not sure percentage) and been very happy. My Defender is Santorini black so it all blends in!

Haven't noticed any issued with reflections or driving at night.
