What to use to seal 300tdi egr blanking plate?

As title says, I took off the blaking plate to install egt sensor. Now I was hoping if I just put it back it will seal woth original gasket on it. No go. It leaks and it coated my turbine and intake pipie in this nice black exaust soot.

Any ides on what to use to seal the blanking plate? Also the sensor mount that has been installed in the plate itself?

Muffler/exhaust jointing paste, e.g. CRC "Maniseal", comes in a toothpaste sized tube.

make sure both faces are clean and then apply maniseal,

Thanks! I actualy had a look at that. But I taught it will "glue" the plate so it may be difficult to remove again. Not true?

Maniseal goes brittle, but is not hard to remove, but everyone I talk to recommends Permatex Ultra Copper. I have used it often, and it is great.
