Defender will not start
Hi there I drive a Landrover Defender TD5 and have had the car die on me I have found that I have a noisy relay switch underneath the drivers seat and have also noted that since the relay which is noisy that the fuel pump on the fuel tank is not working I replaced the relay with a new one and the new relay makes the same noise as the old one and when I spoke with the auto electrician here in Broome this afternoon he told me that it sounded like there was a voltage drop I have checked the voltage on the relay and I am getting 11.93 volts would this be the problem, can anybody give me some solid advice on how to go about on doing some fault finding and hopefully be able to fix the problem myself.

If an access hole hasn't been cut in the rear floor then you'll need to drop the tank.

Stop!
I will need tech correction here.
There should be a few blue? Plastic jobbies that a bunch of wires go to under the drivers seat.
I think they are earth points. They can corrode and give a dicky earth.
I had this in my 110 Td5. Open them and have a look.
Could be a cheap fix.
It was for me.
