The sound track is my 4.6V8 at idle.
The squeal is not audible when the engine is cold, but gradually grows louder as the engine gets warm(er).
It is not belt-related...I removed the serpentine belt thinking it may be an idler bearing or water pump...the noise is still present when the belt is removed.
I used a plastic tube to try and locate the source of the sound...it appears more evident from under the vehicle near the front of the engine on the RH side.
When the revs are slowly increased the noise seems to fade. I don't know whether this is because the general engine noise drowns the squeal or not
The noise has me stumped! Any thoughts please?
