Honestly i would not do it.
they are hard enought to keep at 100kmh, so the cruise would work hard for its job.

Just drive it.....

Plus, in a defender if you find you're yelling at your passenger... it means your speed has crept up 8O 8O

I find my Defender TD5 cruises on 120-130kph quite easily and I actually have a hard time keeping it to 110kph.

I don't have that problem with the 200Tdi.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have an Autron fitted to my Xtreme and its one of the best cruise systems I have ever come accross. Works very well and is just the best thing for a Defender for long trips. Had it fitted by an auto leccy though.

I am destined to travel to Darwin reguarly by virtue of genetic connection, (daughter and grand daughter, son inlaw is OK too.), so cruise is the way to go for me.
What was the installed cost? Were they prepared to sell the unit without installation?
Cheers,

I had it fitted about 2 years ago. From memory it was about $700 fitted. Sounds alot but it makes driving long trips so much better.

I have fitted several including my old TDi 300 without drama.
Have a look on the Autron site. Apparently the TD5 is even different from the TD5 Disco. I do not know why.

all they would need is a rheostat (variable resistor) tapped in to the throttle pedal and WALLAH!! a hand throttle.........
now some elctronics to vary resistance according to speed and you have a cruise control.......

err....anyone here handy with electronics?</span>

Hmm, I reckon that Drivesafe guy might know a thing or two.
