is this a new sound...or has it always been there....?
have you done anything different to make the noise happen.....?
have you checked for any water in the fuel sedimenter....?

Its been there since we picked it up in Melbourne it had 130000kms ( we bought it second hand ) So everything we have done hasnt fixed it either.
Done the injector pump
timing belt
Gearbox ( manual )
and a few other less expensive things, but the noise remains

The noise has always given me the sh**ts and it dooesnt seem right. This is our second 96 Disco and the first one didnt make the noise .
I guess I could leave it, but I would be much happier if I could find it and get rid of it.
