I'm looking to upgrade mine shortly. Could you pm me the price and any other info about it.
Thanks

Fitted boost Gauge today, only 12 psi max, revved freely in neutral up to 4,000 rpm happily, just done a search and am now thinking waste gate ?
Just by-passed modulator and now boosts to 15 psi, definite improvement, but it is still hanging when put foot down, feels like car is being held back, will then change up and shoot along, and when got to top of hill it over boosted, almost like a gear change ?
I checked the wastegate actuator with bole grips, takes a hell of a push to move it. Is this normal ? Help greatly appreciated. Matt.
Gate can take a bit of moving. Best to use low pressure air into the port on the actuator, 15 psi should see it move. The "gear change" wasnt just lockup in 4th happening? Check all the small pipes to and from the turbo modulator. They can develop splits. Cheers Scott
Thanks Scott, possibly yes, plan to buy new hoses and also a new modulator, unhinged the wastegate and mechanism on turbo is free enough, so will try as you suggest. Can I take it the increase in boost means the modulator is stuffed ?
Generally yes, the modulator is a service item I find. However just to be sure disconnect the wiring to the MAF and take it for a run. When the MAF is unplugged the computer defaults to a factory setting .If it runs smoothly, albeit with a decrease in get up and go, either the modulator is crook or the MAF is. Modulator is much cheaper to replace first. then rerun the checks.
Cheers Scott
Disconnected the MAF last night and the car ran this morning the best it ever has done. It was quicker, much smoother and changed gear at different times, better times - wow
When I was getting the re-map done, I met up with Wardy to download my existing map, Tony thought something wasn't quite right, so we swapped over his MAF, and went for a run and we didn't think it made much difference. After I got the re-map, this all fell by the wayside, but now I am used to it, I know something is not right.
So at this point I am guessing some new hoses and a new modulator are the go and see what difference that makes ? Thanks Scott, I had a big grin on my face this morning as was very happy to know I am finally making progress on getting the car right, having lived with it for 3 years, my lovely truck is finally revealing her true self !!
Fitted new modulator and hoses yesterday and went for a quick drive, doesn't seem as good as what the car was without the modulator and MAF sensor disconnected.
Could it be I now need to connect to a Nanocom and clear old error messages ? boost seemed to be back down to circa 12 psi, cleaned the MAF sensor with contact cleaner, not sure what to do next ?
Put new VDO MAF and it will be good IMO and drive it with it unplugged untill then, MAF readings are involved in the wastegate management too that's why it was better with it bypassed but as soon as a ghood management is restored it should give you higher boost and better throttle response than with bypassed modulator
