chip temp?

hi everybody,
just have one question - has anybody had a significant rise in engine temp after fitting the chip? i have read of this with some aftermarket gear but not specifically bruce davis stuff.
i am quite interested in his mod for my 03 TD5 but want to make sure i am not going to get any surprises.
cheers,
Juz

I had my 2000 TD5 Defender done by MR Automotive at Redcliffe.

I'm very happy. The extra power is significant - I do blow more black smoke as a result but I guess that's par for the course.

Going by fuel records I've kept since (2months) I'm getting slightly better fuel economy as well. However it is tempting to lay the boot into it everywhere you go

TD5 Disco Chip

I fitted the intercooler myself in june just did not get arond to taking it back to bruce for a retune (going this tuesday) no increase in engine temp
that I have noticed the turbo may run hotter more power more heat.

Also for every degree in the inlet temp you get an increase of 3 degree's out the exhaust manifold, and yes the chip mod is a good one completely different vehicle to drive

I love the chip, but the turbo lag is still annoying.
Thinking about fitting 1 hyclone just prior to the turbo inlet to try and spool it up faster.
Any thoughts on this?

Tombraider on here sells high capacity full aluminium intercoolers with top spec cores. I run one of his and they are really well made and fitted nicely. He charges about $1190ea + whatever it costs to freight it to you.
