is the Bruce davis chip the only re-chip?

just a quick question, relating to re-chipping...

is the Bruce Davis chip the only re-chip option??

Are there other options? and what's the experience with them?

regards,

biodiesel bob..

tune-it also make a piggy back one.....it plugs in between the harness
and the original ecu......

it can be easily removed and all is back to standard......
but it costs a few hundred more than the bruce davis remap.....

i havent heard of anyone having one of these on a rover yet.....
i think the cost may be the biggest reason why though......

G'day from Malaysia ,

Would like to know that for a remapped ECU , can a Land Rover workshop
flushes the remapping work when they plug in their diagnostic computer for uploading or tunning ?

Are there any plug in chip/unit on the market that is solely plug in , without splicing of OEM harness , so that it can be unplug for warranty work without the workshop knowing ?

Dont go the Tunit.. Its an inline system and belches smoke whilst being very abrupt when it cuts in.

The TD5 gets really 'jerky' when a Tunit module is used, really spoils the driving experience and isnt that refined.

Imagine a throttle surge at the worst point in the rev band, thats how Tunit performs.

However, many people can Flash the ECU for you... Do a search for TD5 ECU upgrade on google.

Cheers

Hi all ,

I have not correspond with tunit but done so with DPchip . Guess their installation would be similiar . Require to splice in to connect the harness then the module plugs into the harness . Can remove the module to return to standard .
My concern is splicing on harness will be obvious to the Land Rover workshop - should there be dispute on warranty work .

Tombraider , will google on ECU upgrade . Till then anybody have a quick answer if dealer diagnostic computer can flushes the remapping work ?

Have a look at this as well.

My Brother had one fitted to his 4.0 V8 and noticed extra drivability but if he had his time again would have done a new free flowing exhaust first up as he reckons thats where he got the best gains/$$$
