Our v6 Camry we had before the fender didn't seem to give a damn about the quantity, as long as it could have lots of fuel. End result is try it for yourself
Umm, should that read "quality"?

We ran Pulp 98 in the V8 Commodore VT wagon for a while and then switched back to normal unleaded. Got to say I noticed no difference in performance or economy at all. Have been running it in the Duke as this is what the manufacturer recommends. It is running a bit rich at the momment so after its next service will chat with the mechanic and may try a couple of tanks of each.
As for the acetone test with the diesel over about 15 tanks I found the acetone made no difference whatsoever either apart from making it smell weird.

i notice a difference in the wifes falcon between the two fuels.........

that is of course assuming that they actually put premium in the pumps
and not fill them both with standard.......

the way things are going, i would expect scams where possible.....
have you been using the same servo each time......?
try a different one and if you do get premium fuel you should notice a difference....but it will only be noticeable when you thrash the car a bit....

the computer will advance the timing as long as it doesnt ping.....

The 95 Disco is 8.13 :1 compression ratio. it will run on something like 88octane.
It does NOT have an O2 sensor or feedback loop in the ECU, so does not advance or retard depending on pinking like Holdens , Falcos etc.
The only effect 98 RON has is to run richer , seeing it is denser.
I found in my 92 Range Rover that the engine would stall on transition between cold and hot, due to the lower volatility.
Waste of money.
regards Philip A
