    I say again, the 38A does not have a distributor so all of the diagnoses talking about advance etc are not applicable.

    The most common problems are coil packs leaking and the crank position sensor failing. Of course plugs and leads are a possibility, and also very expensive. I doubt stepper as it is a completely different system than the 3.9
    have a look at www.rangerovers.net .
    what was the" computer gizmo thing" a proper rover diagnostic or just an oscilliscope
