    thanks every one I will check it out when I get hime this arvo and see if it is fixable (is that a real word?) or will have to buy a new one.

    Success yay - a wire had broken off from where it was supposed to be soldered on. I didn't see it at first but wiggling the wires as suggested made it move so I could see the problem. Very easy to fix
