Thread: body mounted jerry can holders

I've got a couple of jerry can holders on my SIII (off a Perentie) and there's a military 110 s/wagon up the road with them on too.

The army have a Hella combo lamp below the jerry can holder. I had those mounted too, but recently (after cracking the lens) replaced them with a waterproof LED combo light. I've also mounted the original indicators & park / brake lights in the oval series military protectors on the back of the roof, so people can see which way I intend to turn if they're a couple of cars behind me.

I'll see if I can get a pic and post it when I get home.

I always have problems with the gallery - can I copy a pic to a message without putting it on the gallery? Tech advice on this would be appreciated. Failing that, I can email you a pic.

I also just bought on ebay a twin jerry can mount which I plan to fit to the tail gate, only for very long range trips (Simpson Desert). I'm sure the tailgate hinges on a series Landy can handle the 40kg, since they handle a lot more when you stand on them.

The picture has to be hosted somewhere, either on your or someone else's website, the gallery here, or a free photo hosting service, e.g. Photobucket.com.

Photos have been sent to YRVGreen of the setup on my SIII. I haven't got Perentie photos, but if you really want them let me know and I'll drive down the road and introduce myself to the guy with the 110 Perentie - I doubt he'd mind me taking a couple of shots.

I sent the pics to YRVGreen, who volunteered to post them for me.

The protectors are not "roof protectors", I meant the oval shaped "light protectors" the Australian army Land Rovers had around the tail light & indicator. It should all be clear when the photos arrive.
