    Hi Guys
Well she got me 3 litres of syntrans from Southern Landrover, had to supply the container and she had to wait for 30mins,then they charged her $45,she wasnt happy.
They dont use the MTF94 any longer, syntrans is now reccomended.
From the prices a couple of you quoted she got a good price.

the Disco1 has the Dex2 in the R380,but not in the Disco2
80/90 is too heavy for the lt230 I have been told.
I got a Valvoline semi synthetic 75/80 for the transfercase/diffs for $34/4L from supercrap and I also got the new Castrol 5w30 Full synthetic for the motor,$45/5L from supercrap.

MTF94 is not that hard to get hold of if you want a 20l drum (~$120) just get your local Caltex/Ampol dealer to look it up. LOcal servo did it for me and had it delivered within 30 min. 8O

    Who told you that?
The manual says thats the type to use.
My transfer case runs at 80 degrees C and the diff's run at 65 C.
I run 90 weight Castrol LSX90 in the diffs and transfer case.
This is the oil I was told to use by Mal Story himself. (Manufacturer of the Maxi-Drive)
When flogging the truck in low range with crawler gears the LT230 temps goes right up there to over 90C. So I think with anything lower than 80/90 weight oil would be to light?

yes that is right I have a R380 gearbox in the workshop now from running auto fluid and nothing is fixable. Its wore the front housing from colasped bearing and the layshaft is in 2 pieces.

We have had to change a lot of gearbox oils up here in the NT as people are getting wrong info and are also coming out of mitsy with the wrong oil, and getting chargeda a furtune.

Play it safe and use the Syntrans.
