for 54 quid you can get a complete retrim kit for a front seat from Paddocks - shipping couldn't cost that much more than for a bit of exmoor foam
http://www.paddockspares.com/sp/cate...Trim_Kits.html
Since the foam is the major weight and bulk - and I would not be surprised if Exmoor made the kit anyway - and the kit includes foam for the back as well as the seat (not required in my case) I expect that the shipping cost would be about double. Also, I am not sure about whether the pressure pack of glue could be shipped by air (legally at least). They appear not to list the upholstery material on my seats anyway - not surprising as it is rather more expensive from Exmoor than the ones they do list, although not really relevant as all mine needed was a good wash.(now need to pull the back of the seats apart to properly wash the upholstery on the back!)

G'day All
This is a bit of a side issue but for JDNSW n others that re trim their seats I have a suggestion.
Mrs n I brought a set of El Cheapo lambswool seat covers and modded them to fit the defender seats. Its worked a treat. If anyone is interested I'll post some pics.
Doesn't seem in any point retrimming the Lear Industries seats n not protecting your investment
Cheers

FWIW, back at the end of January (yes, Rego time) I swapped seat bases side to side as the passenger side one has probably only had a bum in it a dozen or so times in its life. Much nicer/firmer than the split and collapsed pilots throne.
Good point - and I considered that, having had it done with Series seats in the past. But the complex shape of the Defender/110/90 foam suggested that a moulded rather than built up one would give a better result. And the cost of the foams from Exmoor including freight would be around that price.

I've got the same 'breadcrumbs', and the seat padding height is quite different between front seats, after swapping. In all though, not bad after 20 years of hard yakka. The thing that always struck me about these seats, is how comfortable they are long distance, and yet how uncomfortable and austeer they look!. I've also heard that Extreme front seats are even better.
A couple of mates have replaced their seat cushoning locally, with mixed results. One went to a rubber shop, the other a local upholsterer.
I was kinda hoping that when the time comes, importing a couple of pieces of mixed foam from pommieland would be pretty cheap......no such luck.
