ARB locker RD56 Disco 1 update and other disco one stuff

    Hi all,

I am just wanting to confirm that the RD56 does indeed fit the rear (front too I guess) of all Disco 1 update models (post 4/93 24 spline according to ARB catalogue).
There are not any weird model configurations that are an exception to this?

Reason being is that even though I don't own a Disco yet (still attempting to sell my Rodeo) I have a $500 ARB voucher that expires 31 March 06. I won this from 4wdTV a while ago
So given its expiry date I thought I will most likely need to spend it before I get the Disco.

Also any prices unfitted that anyone has paid would be good. ARB retail is $1195 (Feb 2005 catalogue).
I already have the ARB compressor in the toolbox with the pressure switch. Would need the compressor and locker switches though. Could wire it myself and maybe fit it too if I get keen.

    Thanks all.

My catalogue says RD56 front and rear for 4/93 on and RD03 for 3/93 and prior for D1.

RD57 is for D2 11/02 on (RD56 before that) for rear only and RD56 for front still.
Also RD57 for all Defenders with Rover type with traction control 02 onwards.

So RD57 must be for 02+ traction control models. Didn't all D2s have traction control from the beginning?
So the traction controlled 99-01 models still can use the RD56?

    Mate,

Just buy the locker and it will be fitted,

Yes the RD56 fits all from 94 to 2001, series one and two,

as for pm, there is no way that the lockers were going to stay in the car when i sold it , they would be going straight into the series two. However Heidi has spoken  and the series two has become a pipe dream  . They should be about 20years old when i will be aloud one, and then i will want the hover vehicle .

Is that an offer of help
At least if I buy the RD56 I know I am not locked into getting a D1 even though I am 99.99999% sure I will be (as opposed to a D2).

We can all dream can't we? I dream that one day someone might actually buy my ute and I can then actually drive most of the tracks on our trips with the Disco 8) I have big plans for the fit out of the Disco so I am itching to buy one.
I'm awaiting the delivery of my RAVE CD that I bought off this site (hopefully tomorrow) so I can start reading up on stuff. Some people might think I'm mad for buying the manual and the locker before the actual car ops:

Well I called around and the best price I could get was $1145. However I have discovered I can only use my voucher at ARB head office at Hendra (or in any other state). When I called them all they would do was full retail at $1195. Even when I asked for a cash price :?

However he did say he had 5 on the shelf and I could do a group buy if I wanted to. Maybe if we bought all 5 he could do them for $1190 each

    Who's in.................................

Don't know if one more would bring it down to the magic $1190 (maybe $1194.50). Especially since your committed already.

The catalogue quotes $1505 for a fitted locker plus $413 for a fitted RDCKA compressor. That's $1918 all up.

Are you getting the small 'locker only' compressor? Otherwise they have already given you a discount on something. Unless you have a compressor already.

Although if you want to ask if they will give you a discount when you drop your car in I will come over and buy it on the spot.
