I could do that. Although I would put a drip tray on her roof first. I'm not all bad

After going through the parts in the box and reading though the fitting instructions I will welcome your help with fitting the locker with open arms 8)
I'm sure it will make more sense when I can see what they are talking about after we start fitting it but for the time being it is all very confusing.

Not sure where I will mount the compressor yet. Inside would be good for longevity but I am sure it would be loud and annoying. Either way I will run an air line to the rear bumper so when I pump up the tyres all I have to do is flick the compressor switch and plug the air line into the bumper.

Looked at a two door disco tdi 5sp with Jessie today, not bad and good price as well 6k or 7k with safety cert.

Plenty of extras from JD Rovers and ARB

and no air bags, abs so better for a starting point

If you need help with locker buy a car then we need to set the date, could do body lift whilst here, and larger tyres.

Boy have i got some junk laying around

Well my plan for this car is to:
    1. Fit locker & compressor (since I have it already)
    2. Fit 2in suspension lift with new shocks etc
    3. Dependent on tyres already fitted and these new light vehicle rules I'll either get an off road set of tyres and use the existing for hway or get a set of MTRs and run them 100%. Not sure on size yet.
    4. I need a winch bar (have winch) and sidesteps, rear bar.

I'll do a body lift if I need it to fit the tyres. Otherwise I'll see if it is needed so I can raise the barwork higher or something like that.

All this will be done ASAP when I get the vehicle. I want it to be as per what I want straight away so I get max use of all the accessories. The bar work can probably wait so I can sort out or make some stuff but the rest is just bolt on.

Once all that is done I will reassess the need for a front locker and will get one if I feel it is necessary (or if I just want one )

What is Jessie loooking at Discos for? As a base for his hybrid or as a dd so he can go nuts on his Rangie?

I saw that white man/v8 Disco at Stones Corner on th net yesterday but didn't feel like driving out there. Might do it this week. They want $9990 for it.

Its for the hybrid, just need a good base car to start with, the two door that we looked at had a good maintance record, it was serviced every 10k, motor had rebiuld and so on. general tlc was needed for the rest of the car, but over all as good ride with heeps of power, from down low right up through the revs.

    That’s right NOZ

I have a spare set of blocks here as I am not comfortable lifting a car with airbags,

I bought three sets years ago, put one in my rangie, one in another and the third person pulled out so still have the spare set.

Just the thing for going up to 32” tyres on a series one Disco or Rangie

I think I put my 2 cents in to the post on body lifts. Only need the bolts, approx 24” of 1” flat, and a couple of pieces of angle. A day of time, and a slab of beer (everything goes better with beer)

I test drove this today. It drove okay other than the clutch stuck to the floor on two occaisions. Once when I was attempting to enter traffic on Logan Road and again as I pulled into the dealership. I thought it might have been a sticking clutch master cylinder?

However it was a bit of a rust bucket. It did have a cool sunroof though. It even worked! It had cruise control too but I thought all V8 update D1s did? Salesmen reckoned they didn't? This is a base model by the way. No roof rails.

They also had $13990 on the windscreen even though they had $9990 on the net.

The clutch was heavier than I'd like but it was the same as the last manual (diesel) Disco 1 I drove so maybe I am just a wussy little jap driving boy.

I think I'll stick with the auto. If my Wife ever had to drive it she wouldn't be able to push the clutch in at all

Still not ready to buy just yet. I was just test driving that manual V8 while I had the opportunity.

Both of those look like good Discos. However neither were a base model. I'll try and get a base model for ease of modification and for less to go wrong.

Surely my Rodeo will sell soon
