    Sidesteps for Fender 110

When we got our fender we put the LR sidesteps on. Unfortunately these have rusted. So, LR have said they will take them back Thanks LR.

So now I'm in the market for some new steps. I know I could do sliders... but I actually need steps... and I need them quickly! My wife who is 5 months pregnant is refusing to drive the fender until there are steps on it!

So, I need some steps that don't rust, and ideally don't hang down like the old ones did.

I've seen some kensington alloy ones. I've also seen these which I reckon would do the trick. Does anyone know what the details are on them?

Where can I get sliders from? Do I have to make them up myself?

Oooh.. I found those other sidesteps, and sliders here...

    http://www.lrexpert.com.au/custom.php?page=defender

That's a good idea zook... best of both worlds. I don't have any equipment for that type of work but I'm sure there is a way...

Edit: phoned graeme cooper and they didn't like the idea of modifying the sliders. He said they were heavy, and adding metal would increase the leverage if you hit something..

    Hi Captain
I have the steps as per the photo in your first post, they are plenty strong, keep all sorts of sh*t off the side of your van, sturdy, high enough, low enough (for your wife), and had them for 6 years now and not a speck of rust, even where it sorted some idiot out in the shopping mall park
Only prob is some people might think they are a bit wide when going through narrow washouts/mudpits/etc..... Personally i think they protect the sides of the van beautifully.

'99 'fender - it goes... (quite well actually!)

    Re: Side steps.

I have a friend that is a wholesaler, and I am in the process of seeing if he can get me some Scorpion racing rock/tree sliders. They are basically rock sliders, with a pipe welded outside to fend off trees. Checker plate can be attached to the top of these to make a steep. Don't know how long this process will take however. Might be able to do a bulk buy.
    Check out their site at:

    Good luck,

    Ken

Ok... rang ARB and TJM... neither know anything about it.

Rang Scorpion and they said they have them on order and expect them in 6 weeks... price will be 825 + $100 for post... bit pricy..

Does anyone have anyidea where those pictured above come from? I'd love to buy them locally rather than mail order from graeme cooper.
