    Centrifugal Oil Filter TD5

G'day guys, I'm again having a Russel Coight day, Did my first oil change on Freddy Fender today, No big deal but I am a little stumped with this filter. I had no problems replacing it but I did notice in the box it came in a small rubber wash in with the "O"ring. Ive looked at the basic manual diagagram and it does not indicate this piece. Also on pulling out the Centrifugal filter I did not notice any other washers. Any of you dedicated guru's out their could shed some light on this I would be grateful.

    I'm no guru.... but,

The rubber O-ring goes around the centrifugal filter housing between the top (the part you pull off) and the base.

Washers inside.... wouldn't stand up the the RPM the filter spins at I think.... No need for any either....

on the outside... no washers needed, the o-ring should do the only sealing necessary....

If you need more info, there's much more educated people (in the way of the land rover) on this forum compared to me... :-)

    You are 'd guru 8O 8O

The o ring goes on the cap for the filter housing. It just needs to be pulled off and replaced with the new one. The most critical part is do NOT tighten the bolts on the cap housing too much. The threads are very weak and they will strip easily.

Apart from that its a very simple job 8)

    Cheers,
    Lyndon.
