Salisbury conversion on 88 Series ...

Any of you fella's done the 4.7 rear Salisbury conversion to a Series 88? I'm grabbing myself one and plan to do it and would be interested to hear from anyone who has already done it ... pics would be good too.

    Best, Simon.

    diff conversion

Can be done and has been done before. was a long time ago so just going on memory. You will need to shorten the drive shaft to start. grab new u bolts and the mounting hardware with the diff, that is the lower plates that the u bolts bolt to. Apart from that I think it fits in without any real trouble.

    Thanks mate,

Yeah I'm pretty sweet on what needs to be done, just curious if any Aussies on the fora had done it ... will require grinding off and re-welding further inboard the spring pads on the axle - then shortening the prop shaft since the Sals nose is longer - I am currently considering sticking Rangie axles under my 88 ... disc brakes, wider track and stronger halfshafts. I would need to swap my 4.7 diff centres into the RR diffs but apart from that ... sweet!
