Black D3 with those rims and some nice muds would just look great. As we have discovered as well, you can go most places already with the standrad tyres, imagine how much trouble you get yourself into with some muds !!!

    Buy buy buy!!!
If I were to get them Id still use the 19's for on road and these for off road, so if they get scuffed or marked isnt really a problem, its more the fact that I have a more suitable tyre and rim setup for the D3 so next time I have a muddy hill to climb ( Driver Training Day) I can get up the bastard . AM going to chase again for a list of suppliers, I wanna know what I am going to have to bargain with the missus with to get them

    Regards

    Stevo,

They cost around $300 -$310 each for 17". Damn cheaper than a LR rim, that's for sure and when you scratch them up you won't care so much.

Wow, that is a hell of a difference compared to Lr at around $1600 a rim . For what I was budgeting and if the 18's arent much different I will easily get them shod with rims and tyres for less than what I thought. For those knowledgeable or you may know Chris, how can there be such a variance in price?

    Regards

Stevo ( getting excited at prospect of new rims and tyres )

LR price these parts with the view that it will be an insurance claim.

It's cr@p but that what I was told when I asked to buy the LR 17" rims for my D3.

    I told them I wanted a set of 5. I couldn't even get then for $500ea x 5.

Ok, prices for rims are around $450 a rim, but they also have a second hand pair of RR Vogue rims in 18's that he says would fit and suit the D3. On the placard it has tyres for the 18's at 235/65/r18's and 255/65/r18s, anyone know of suitable tyres for that ( will be doing some research myself of course), and as I have 255/55/r19s, would a 255/55/r18 suit??

    Stevo,

I read somewhere that someone was going to fit RR 18" wheels but they would not fit. My understanding is that no other LR rim fits the D3 except the RRS wheels otherwise people would have bought the RR wheels especailly the US LR3 owners.

Who says they will fit, the tyre dealer or the LR dealer?

You can always prove it by asking them to fit a wheel rim to check clearance.

Go to this URL to compare tyre sizes:

Thanks mate, having done a bit of a search today am finding not much even for 18's. What confuses me is that on the plaque in the car on tyres in the car has 19's, 18's and 17's and applicable tyre size. However Ive heard that 17's wont go on the V8??

Stevo, Coopers do a 275/65 18 113Q in the STT at about $445 per tyre. Can't find much else in an 18" in an aggressive tread to suit the Disco 3. If you find any other options please let me know.

Hey Barry, put do you know if they would fit on a D3? I read on the uk site for D3's and someone has been in contact with General Tire and Coopers who reckon a 255\60\r18 which would suit the 18inch rim for the D3. It shouldnt be this (enter expletive) hard ,

    Regards

    Stevo
