Disco I replaced the damper with a Bilstien and the problem dissappeared immediately (radius arm bushed were done a couple of months ago).

Other Defender owners have reported the same thing.

I just replaced mine a couple of weeks ago the one i took off was the original one from new, so it has been on there since 96 and has done just under 300000ks and to my amazment it was still in goog condition showing lots of smooth resistance, I replaced it with a 4way return to centre unit, It has changed the dynamics of the steering that took a little getting use to. I put this down to the return spring on the 4way unit. Now i have used for about 1000ks i have come to like the new feeling i just hope it lasts longer than has been mentioned in a previous post.

no problem as per the instructions included with the kit. Although i was a little concerned with how close the spring/bracket came to the radius rod. I took it for a drive then inspected it after and this was of no issue, it didnt rub like i thought it might.
