Thread: BFG's A/T, have they change in the last 5 years !

I have just done 36,00k's around aus 10,000k's of tracks and 6000k's of heavy off road track. I have a set of BFG AT on the 90 and have found that they are fantasic (and i bought them second hand too). We had one punture on the whole trip and that was coming back down from the cape and was caused by a screw.
They are more expensive but i belive you get what you pay for

$220 each fitted and balanced, is the best price I have gotten now my mate can get them though work for me

Now i just have to approval from the handbrake

I`m on my second set and think they are a fantastic, tyre, they do what they say on the label, and do it well.

I regulary run mine at 12psi in the sand, and have had no probs with crap getting between the bead and rim, just re-inflate em and drive home again.

I am running my second set of these tyres (235/70R16) on my D2 TD5 and have been extremely pleased with them. I'm by no means a slave to the tyre pressure guage or wheel akignment shop.

First set were still well and truly street legal at 110k when I replaced them, and they had done plenty of off-road work and over 35k KM towing a Jayco Swan off road campervan, including Tanami track, and various other tracks and beach work.

I haven't been in much mud with them but have been in the snow without problems.

I thinkk I paid around $240 each fitted and balanced last time. Even my wife reckons they're a good buy at that.

Only had one flat in the first set when I got staked with a bit of steel sticking up near a cattle grid in central Queensalnd - would have gone through anything.

i had pirelli scorpions on my car they did 115,000k's

and you've seen the way i treat them

Mine are coming up to 80,000 with at least another 10,000 in tread depth.

I have had on a couple of occasions the beads let air out.

I put it down to the rims (sunraysias)

I have a new set of BFG M/T on disco rims and have had a slow leak in 1 already from a mud track. Still trying to work out if it is the rim protector but I am begining to wonder. Yes the compound is softer than the old BFG,s

and they hang on OK in the wet, copmpared to most muddies.
