Dug up this old thread in case anyone is interested MUD Stuff UK sell these trays that go around the trans tunnel / gear sticks. They have ha d a version fior R380 for years (300Tdi) but now have a version for the LT77 as well (for you 200Tdi owners).

MUDSTUFF.CO.UK, MUD Tunnel Tray, Land Rover Defender Solutions: West Yorkshire

Expensive, but probably not TOO bad given the reasonably good cross exchange rate at the moment.

    Cheers
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I have just recently received my MUD Tunnel Tray and have to let you all know that its is one of the single best things I have ever done to the interior (a 350mm MOMO steering wheel is good idea to free up space and means I can back a trailer without winding down the window for my elbow!). It cost me $125NZ delivered and it took about a week to arrive. I personally hate the horrid stick on jobs you get from accessory shops. This thing looks like a factory part and fills in the gap around the gear sticks that served no purpose at all. It uses fixings, does not shake about, and I can take it out an use it in my other defender in seconds. If you use the factory ones in the console, then you loose one of the most useful storage bits in the car. I would have nowhere to put my phone, house keys and miscellaneous small parts and screws. If they are $70 odd dollars then its way too expensive considering the cost of a MUD tray. Really very happy with it and recommend to all thirsty Defender owners.

    cheers

    Stefan

Of course we are soft, thats why we have Land Rovers in the first place. I haven't got the energy to put up with a Toyota or Nissan - Too uncomfortable riding!!! and bugger getting stuck all the time;-)
