or know where I can get one brought or made for my TD5? I'd prefer an off the shelf version but a custom would be o.k if the costing is not to much

I think Safari is the way to go. No rustable components etc ans as strong as you would ever need.

    Exclamation TD5 Snorkel

I just fitted an Airflow one on my Discovery. I have taken piccies and will make up a list of instructions. As the two sets provided aren't exactly full of information. I got it online through an Adelaide store. www.4wdsytems.com.au cost was $289 plus frieght.

The manufacturers instructions measurements are inaccurate, and the provider's set is limited.

I am away for work up to Sunny Curtain near Derby and Broome for 4 weeks starting Saturday so won't be able to post till i get back. If you desperately want to do it before then then i can't help.

    Noisy snorkel

Nope, not noisy at all, i can just hear it sucking when planting the right foot. Not noiser enough to notice, Quality seems fine.

When drilling the large hole through the guard i would reccomend getting a larger hole-saw than 76mm. Once you drill the hole you have to then file hole out a little so that the rubber gasket they provide will fit as well as the snorkel. If you can get a 77 or 78mm that would be neater. Also when you drill the hole you need to drill on a bit of an angle, ie when you look at how the snorkel sits on the side of the guard the round part that extends throught the guard is on a downward angle. Will see if i can get a couple of pictures on tomorrow befroe i leave on Sat.

Spewin, didn't realise sponsored site had them for around the same price.....
i am still finding my way around the site.

Noise is due to flow restriction in the snorkel design...

Keep an eye on your consumption figures in coming weeks. Several people have found 1-2l/100km increase in consumption using Airflow. Also watch the inlet hose, the extra vacuum has been known to cause it to collapse.

Will be interesting to see, but have many people tell me they're restrictive and having listened to a few over a Safari version I tend to believe them.

    Question increase in fuel consumption

Have been told on work 4WD forum that it could be due to the air ram effect, and that by turning snorkel head backwards it eleviates the problem. ????

I know of the Airflow and Safari models but liked the design of the one on the G4 disco pictured, having most of the piping inside the inner guard has it's own appeal, to me anyway, As stated in the thread, I'm not to sure how restrictive it would be as opposed to the Safari does anyone else have one fitted?
