Not getting any noise on mine. I am worried about the fuel economy. If i turn the head will i get better fuel econ...
Will have to do a tank with it FWD and a tank with it turned to the back and see what happens.
I tried this on a friends Hilux, turning the ram did improve the noise a littleOriginally Posted by tonto73

some questions
How does the direction of the tip make a difference to the fuel economy?
Is there any reason this snorkel wouldn't fit a TD5? The discription says disco II, it doesn't mention engine variations.
Hi Dobbo
All the Snorkel poeple list the same part no for Td5 and V8,I would say the airbox connection on both is the same.

My purpose for getting the snorkel was to get cleaner air and hopefully colder air to improve overall turbo perfomance.
I am going off what other people have told me.
Nitrous Oxide spray on the intercooler or buy a larger intercooler, Get a Ball bearing turbo. I know someone who has replaced his turbo (not in a Landie but the same Garret turbo as on the TD5) and replaced it with a larger Garret Ball Bearing unit. It cost him around $2500.00 for a rebuilt second hand turbo, this results in instant whiplash.Originally Posted by tonto73
I've allways wondered why you see the odd ram turned backwards. I've never had any noise issues or noticable fuel consumption issues with my safari snorkel. It may be because I have a V8 but all in all no difference. I thought people were turning it around in heavy rain or something but again i've not had the need to.....
Should I be turning it around?
Usually when driving in a convey the dust storm generated from the vehicle in front goes straight down the ram poluting your filter very quickly turning the ram reduces this problemOriginally Posted by ******
