My 130 had 2" lift with 16x10 big offset rims and 305/70R16 and it rubbed every where and power on country roads was up to #hit. Took them off after the first weekend. Looked really cool though.

315/75R16 is a tyre with 12.5" width. 315mm They are not recomended on 8" rims

And all but Mickey T say no to 305s on 10" wide rims too.
Almost EVERY 315-75-16 tyre out there is fitted to a 8" rim.

305-70-16s is wierd that you had such an issue. They are only 1" larger than stock rolling diameter, yes they are wider but I never experienced any power issues with mine.

Rubbing? What offset did you run? Were you running the same rims I have? TX-1???

HHMmmmmm.Ive got the maxi's und the hd cv's,power upgrade is on the cards, but it does sound like a bit of a bugger to pull off.Hey Tusker, what size simex's do you run??I do like the look of the MTZ's,but the width issue was my main concern, however,I had a feeling Tombraider would have the positive approach which I like.By the way mr Tombraider, where'd you get your rims from? And a big thanks to you all,as usual

Rims came from my mates shop...
Total Traction Tyres in Lonsdale, SA (08-8186 1011) he ships anywhere.

Ironically, the only Maxidrive I have is rear axles and front/rear hub flanges.

After all the hiding I give my truck it still has the factory original CVs and front shafts.

Only other 'driveline' upgrade was a custom front tailshaft.

My 16" rims ran at about 70mm backspacing and no rubbing with 35/10.5 pedes. I ran 35/12.5 cooper stt for a few weeks (swapped Jase so he could rwc his bus) on 110mm offset rims and they rubbed the control arms on full lock. I have 2 new sets of rims (one too many accidentally, long story) waiting for tyres. One set is 15x7 and have just 50mm backspacing, so planning a 33/10.5 for highway. If I find the right 33/12.5's first, I will put them on the 15x8's with 75mm backspacing. I have tested a spare, and they clear everything beautifully with my sensible sized lft.

Mine are the 35 10.50 16s. Wheels are Disco steelies taken out to 8", with 1" less backspacing. No rubbing on spring towers or trailing arms, they just touch the rear flares on full articulation. At a quick glance they appear to fit properly under the flares, on a close look one rear wheel doesn't.. the axle is offset a smidgen under the car..

I had 110mm TXI rims on my 130 the rear tyres were out of the guards by about 70mm and the front about the same. Power round town was ok but a trip from brissie to Kingaroy was painfull with the lack of power. I think fuel was about the same economy. May be ok with more lift and a bit of modification, Really need to lower the front bump stps.

Look in the Australian Tyre and Rim Association Standards Manual. Thats what Transport look at because it is legal Australian regulation. 33/12.50r15 is not legal on 8" rims as is many other sizes.

I do know the mt117 in bias ply is not legal on Australian roads. Your insurance with not cover you in an accident. unless they have conformed to Australian standards in the last 12 months. the Radial is ok.
