After wasting a morning searching for a remould mud tyre from a supplier nearby I gave up and ordered Simex Centipede MTs at $160 each. I have standard suspension at present (but planning on a 2" lift soon) so I picked the 31x10.50R15 to fit the 7x15 steel rims I got at the Expo.
Here are some pics for those interested (click for larger image).
Cross axled on car ramps:
The wheel nuts off the alloys look a bit over the top:
The front gets close but not too close (I hope):
The camel cut seems just right:
They certainly look the goods:
There is no rubbing I have detected at full-lock and a brief road-test felt pretty good, the only difference being a slight howling (akin to wind noise) that increased with speed but was not intrusive even with the windows open.
The disco looking macho:
Any comments on what tyre pressures should I be running on road and off road? The suppliers said Simex don't advise running below 20psi and being an MT tyre I shouldn't have to air-down anyway.

You seem to do that yourself except YOU don't invite anyone apart from XSIOriginally Posted by DiscoDave
i used to run my Simex extreme treckers at 12 psi (with out any beadlockers or anything ) and they were ok. But don't know about the MT's.
They do grip alot more at a lower pressure, which can means stuff can break quicker , if you see red mist , but they do make the truck go further

Camel cut? Simexes? This is looking serious!
Those tyres I think are part of the radial range, & totally different to the Simex bias ply jobbies, some of which are also called centipedes. The two ranges have different websites even.
Anyway, if its a radial, for on-road pressures you can stick pretty close to what you had before. Its not critical, radials hold their shape, & are relatively tolerant of different pressures.
Off-road? Who knows, I've never seen them in action before. Experimenting is half the fun. They will no doubt work better at lower psi - start around say 25 psi & see how it feels

They look the part Dave.
Are you going to remove the sway bars to see if they help with articulation ?

Is that safe to do?Originally Posted by Scouse
Could you put them on with a quick release setup?
They are nice chunky looking tyres.
