I'm now in a Kluger hybrid for a while, The MUX was taken away on a tilt-tray yesterday.
Looks like they are raising their offer slightly but I'll still be out of pocket.

Replacement car is getting a HD towpack fitted, I'll have to take a train trip to Albury to collect it once I get the payout.

More info once the deal is done.

Just the HD towbar, wiring harness and electric brake unit as far as I'm aware, genuine Isuzu.

Revised offer received by email, increased by $2,300 !

By the time I take off the rest of the insurance payments (paid monthly and they deduct payment to the end of the 12 month period), I'll still be out-of-pocket buying a similar age replacement.

I'll get back to them tomorrow & accept, hopefully the payment comes through fairly quickly so I can move on.......

Hopefully this one lasts a bit longer. First written off at 8,000km when someone pulled out of a side road, this one at 45,000km when I was rear ended so third time lucky ??

Payout received, looks like a train trip to Albury on Monday.

Mine was 2023 with 45,000Km, the one I'm collecting is 2024 with 8,000Km. Ex Isuzu company car (demonstrator ?), hadn't been previously registered.
So I'm out-of-pocket financially about $1,300 but the replacement vehicle is newer.

$100 discount on insurance if taken up within 6 months but I bet the policy jumps by more than that, even though I wasn't at fault !!

Policy would probably have jumped by more than that even if you hadn't made a claim!

I had to arrange a change in the insurance on the wife's 9 year old Territory. Monthly $133.
Then I arranged insurance on the 1 year old MUX, I did select $1K excess. Monthly $131 ?!
Then they added the $100 discount so payments now $122 per month.

Decent highway run from Albury, 7.3 litres/100.
Repping around South East Melbourne I was getting around 9.5 litres/100 in the previous MUX, towing an FFR on a trailer returned 11.2 litres/100 when I went to Corowa back in March.

Being white, maybe people will stop pulling out in front of me or rear ending me and I'll keep this one for a while.......

The last motor insurance circus I had was when a bloke rear ended my big trailer. The tail end of it is the tailgate, which is 2m wide and 0.5m high, painted gloss white, and just about windscreen level of the Commodore that ran into me while I was stopped waiting for a gap to turn right.

    Best of luck!
