Very common engine,so shouldn't be two difficult.

They are definitely no boat anchor,generally ultra reliable,if serviced correctly like anything mechanical.

One thing though,probably the least of your issues with the change over,they don't like any revs less than 1500RPM,particularly in higher gears.
The TDV6 may run lower revs at highway speeds.
There have been quite a few that have needed replacing. Actually of all engines, this is the one that I have actually seen more of than any. But the solution is easy - don't run the factory airbox!!!
