As long as they are not too wide they should be fine, 245/75/16 seem to be a good size for disco's.

A 31x10.5x15 is equivalent to a 265 75 15.
Hope that bit of info helps, but it doesn't answer your question though.

Standard rims on Discos are 16" so we are presuming you have some aftermarket 15" rims to put those tyres on ?
31 X 10.5 R15 should be OK. However, some trimming will probably be required at the rear fender /guard area.
I forgot to add they will be going on 15 by 8 rims
Cheers Ken
I run 31x10.5 x 15 Sumitomo M/Ts on 15x7 sunraysia rims. Rear guards required trimming & still touch in the rough stuff.( I have a 50mm lift & no rear sway bar.) Front guards are ok but front bumper may need trimming( or fit a bullbar )
As a side benefit the ride is greatly improved with the big tyres on.

On a Disco 1 The biggest 16 inch tyre you can fit is a 245.75x16 which is the same diameter as a 31x10.5x15 ( about 30.5 inchs or 6% increase over OE) but a little narrower. You may have to trim a triangle from the bottom of the rear guard at the back.
These fiit well on standard wheels and have and most have a legal load rating.
A 30x9.5 x15 is the same diameter as a 205x16 OE tyre but quite a bit wider so you will lose steering lock..
Watch the load rating on any 15 inch Flotation tyre as many have too low a rating for a Disco so are illegal, and also arguably more prone to punctures.
I do not know in this day and age why anyone would put 15 inch tyres on a Disco. IMHO Rovers better suit narrow tyres and the Rangies I have driven on 15s felt vague and "squishy" to drive .
Their only benefit is that they are cheap.

I once put side by side a 31 X 10.5 BFG MT on a 15 " rim and a 245/75 BFG MT on 16" rim. The 31X 10.5 R15 wheel and tyre appeared a good bit taller than the 245/75 R16. ( diddn't measure but I would say at least half an inch. )Originally Posted by PhilipA
How say you on that ?

i have 30x9.5x15 on my disco 1 on cheviot turbo mags and have not suffered any loss of steering lock, must be the offset of the mags i suppose. I didnt have to alter a thing. they just barely rub the front mudflaps on the way thru to full lock.
personally i think the vehicle rides way better now than it ever did before with std steels and std tyre sizes etc etc. the extra half inch of rubber makes a big difference to ride and seems to have lowered road noise a bit as well but i am quite deaf so it may have moved to a freg i dont hear :P
still working on the best tyre pressures for this and that but i have to say i am way happy with the new setup.
