Thread: out of fuel---

    out of fuel---

    My D2 failed to start again today,,
    it seems Someone Who Shall Remain Nameless
    ran it out of fuel,,,

    the funny thing was, Di said (oops!) the doors wouldnt lock and the engine wouldnt turn over,,,

    bunged 10 litres in it--(in the POURING SIDEWAYS rain) and bingo, starts straight away,,,

    is this normal when out of fuel?

    '06 to 10. written off.

    It probably self primes.

    When I put the long range tank into mine (TD5 mind you) it started first go and never gave a problem.

    No this would not be normal.

    Question is Di blonde ??

    Just a guess but - I would think when the person, who you shouldn't mention, tried to start it - it was not in park or neutral.

    Or to give that person the benefit of the doubt - maybe the gearbox interlock switch needs a look at.

    "That person" informs me a quick gearbox shuffle was performed,,,

    windows and stereo worked,,

    it WAS outside a post office--
    maybe the D2 immobilser bug struck for a second??

    Now I have never experianced it - but I have heard that certain retailers like chemists (sorry farmacy) and post offices have a wireless/digital/some sort of 'kin signal that stops disco's working.

    Others may be able to shine more light on it.
