    Flare cutting and bigger tyres

Just fitted a set of 35's to my defender. They appear to have plenty of room except for near the corner of the guards.
Just interested to see what people would suggest to fix....cut up along the blue lines which will expose more of the wheel, or try to heat and remould the flares?

I'm not a Defender owner so I'm speculating here but what rims are those tyres on? Maybe it's your offset which is the problem as I've read you can stuff 36" tyres under a standard Fender.

Heat and remould. Hot gun does the job
... and do the testing on ramp before to get an idea how curves go.
    Cutting is last reserve, always!

I have fitted 2"-offset rims on my Defender no worries.

dunno what offset, they are what was on it when I brought the car with 33's. They are wider than normal. Heatgun/cutting sounds cheaper than new rims

Will see if I can find a heat gun to borrow

Have a chat with Ray, he runs 35 Simexes when we play with no problems.

Just in the process of cutting along those blue lines now. Done 3 wheels, 1 to go. Means more mud up the side of the car but at least it won't scrub anymore.

With offset rims all tyres will scrub top center of flares if you going to play to cross-axle games. And mud, stone chips everywhere... damaged body work... you are right.

A few pics of the cuts I made to minimize scrubbing. I did a quick test and it appears to clear the top centre of the flares just.
