100w/90 go well,
any bigger run a bit hot and tend to blow on gravel roads frequently.
You will be stoked with the difference over standard
cheers
I have recently fitted one of the Traxide headlight and spot light wiring upgardes and am now looking to perhaps replace the existing H4 globes in the headlights of my D2. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on wattages and brands of H4 bulbs to fit?
Really after a decent low beam as my spots (IPF 800xs spread and pencil)pick up the slck on high beam, but a decent wattage is what I'm after I think to gain more light now that the wiring etc can take it.
I know nothing about electrics so forgive my ignorance as I try to "see the light"![]()

I had 90/100's however got sick of replaceing them as low beam would blow approx ever 3 months,![]()
Then I dropped down to 75/100 but cost is high.![]()
I found by having a loom upgrade and running 50% more 55/60 watt bulbs (Hella I think) I am now happy.![]()
A thing that one has to watch with high wattage is the refelctors are plastic and if you are not moving the lamps don't get the airflow to cool and I have seen reflectors melt in extreme cases. (one Falcon and one Holden)![]()
Most auto shops have a great range and Autobarn at Slacks Creek has a display that shows the difference.![]()

I've had really good results with 90/100's on the standard wiring. You have to keep the plugs into the back of the globe clean though.

I am with you Slunnie,
have not blown a 100/90 in 12 months.
Auto elec told me on standard wiring any hotter than 100/90 globes risk doing damage to wiring.
cheers
Put some 90/100s in it. Often the cause for constant regular blowing of globes is lack of cooling to the headlamp assembly. Similarly, the 50% brighter white 60/55s from Hella do give a really good low beam!
