    Rego and Engineering in WA

I am about to ship my 110 county from Brisbane to Perth. It is currently unregistered. I have 2 sets of wheels for it in Brisbane and can only ship it with one set. One set is 235/85 and the 2nd is 285/75x16 (33"). Will I have any problems at the "examination centre" with the 33"s???

And any info on exactly what they check, and how stringent it is - and the best place near Perth to take it.

Also - any tips on good insurance companies would be great too!

They will check everything and they are ruthless. Make sure u have on only legal stuff as u will need a permit for everything that is modded and not standard...anything over a 2" lift requires a permit. Make sure horn works reversing lights work windscreen has no cracks actually anything that should work and is saftey related must work or be in servicable condition.
It will cost $14 for the permit for u to drive to them and then the inspection fee of $54 from memory, and if it fails then u pay again when u come back
I dont know of any soft inspectors I can reccomend but I got my rangie done at the midland branch. I had to remove the window tint as it was too dark, I did not think it was but he did.

Re insurance ring around. I am with tcis as I am in a club but was with RAC before that.
with Tcis at the moment my 89 rangie is insured for $24000 agreed value including accessories cost me $582 per year with no inspection required. The RAC needed to inspect before they would insure my 82 rangie for 20 grand but after seeing it no problems but premium was $682

Thanks for the info Brad, looks like I will have to fix all the lucas gremlins before I take it in... And give everything else a once-over to see if anything has died in the last 3 years it has been in storage...

    Which club are you in?

Also, I want to fit a turbo later, so any info on how to get mods like that approved???

You only have to go over the pits the once. After that there is no yearly inspection like some other states. You would have to be pulled over and checked to be caught out, but I would think an after market turbo would be alright anyway.
    Cheers Iggy

If I take you seriously Pedro the inspectors will fail a vehicle here if there are oil leaks......................just a well there are no yearly inspections ..................there probably wouldn't be any Landys on the road!

    Hi Isuzurover
Are you living Perth or country????
Perth is bad for a general inspection for what it sounds like you are chasing.
Think about a country inspection ,Boddington(1st local pick or Narrogin aint far from me(Williams) you are dealing with owner operators,if your bus is in reasonable nick you wont have a problem.Put the biggies on if you pass if not have the littlies on a trailer ready to fit.
PM if you need any more info.Being a fellow Landynut you could get offered a place for the nite if you need to get down here

Andy, I am in Perth. How far away are the places you mention???

The landie is in good nick, but when I put it in storage 3 years ago, was weeping a bit of oil from a few places (no actual leaks) and had a few of the usual lucas gremlins...
