TD5 ecu fuel temperature sensor disabled

I have just become aware that the fuel temperature sensor is disabled in my 03 Disco's ecu. The ecu was replaced almost 3 years ago. I have advised the local dealer and they are referring to LR for advice.

Does anyone know if this can be enabled using Testbook/T4?

I've been trying to overcome a light throttle poor running condition (not firing well) and a 2 second throttle delay (off closed throttle) for 3 years and am wondering if this might be the cause.

    Thanks,
    Graeme

    (1) Is there an idiot light on to tell you this.

    (2) This delay is it in low range or high and does the car have a rough idle as well

The reason for the 2 questions is that we had a similar problem with the car running rough at idle and a slight delay in throttle responce, it turned out to be the fuel sensor being loose, i noticed that the temp gauge was down to cold and high temp light on, a quick trip to a dealer faults cleared and sensor tightened up and back to normal.

Also apparently the crank sensors can play up on TD5s and cause rough idle and running, but can be fixed cheaply be fitting a shim to the sensor.

    Hi Redback,

No, it idles very smoothly and the delay occurs in both ranges.

The temp gauge needle and light problem of yours is what is supposed to happen if the coolant temperature sensor signal is out of range.

My delay has has been mostly overcome by new fuel maps, but I wouldn't be surprised if the disabled fuel temp sensor is contributing to the problem.
