I've heard of many conversions - that is a new one. Marks 4WD adaptors in Victoria may be interested - but only on an adaptor plate that goes between a R380/LT77 bellhousing and the LT95 minus it's bellhousing. There's plenty of input shaft to play with - at worst you might need to re-cut and spline the end.

However - you may have heard of a Rangie/350 chev conversion - well why not the Rangie/ 6L GMC diesel? Plently popular with 101FC owners and fits into the engine bay without cutting anything. In fact, cousin john (I think that's his handle) has done it to a LWB County and has pictures. And there is a kit available.

I can supply you an adaptor plate to bolt Tdi engine to a V8 bellhousing (use them for HS2.8 conversions) they are NOT cheap
If you interested I'd have to ring the machining shop for a current price
    thanks

cheers for the replys. i looked at prices for engines and cant realy justify the price for a rangerover thats not worth as much as the engine i would be bolting in i nearly fell over when i got a price for a crapy old 200tdi.
