    need help with airtec snorkel

    hi guys

for some of you that may of seen my airflow snorkel post,,,,,i have just recently required an airtec snorkel for $150 6 months old

i brought it of a guy that had a disco 1, now when i asked him if it was for an abs car he couldn't remember but thought that his car had abs....(as my'n does)

the reason i asked is that the safari's have differnet ones depending on abs or not! assuming that it might just be the pipe bends a little different or something......not saying the same goes for airtech but anyway....

well got it today all bits look there but no fitting instructions and more importantly no template........so the big question is does anyone have a template for a disco 1 airtec snorkel......and two has any one got any fitting instructions for it also

it looks like there maybe some drilling of the air filter box, but as i'm not sure thats why i'm calling on you proffesionals.....

    thanks guys

Not that many car thieves research the history of the vehicles before they strip them for parts...

Can't help you with a template, as i haven't bought my snorkel yet, but the difference between an ABS and non ABS snorkel is the path it takes to reach the air filter - the non ABS snorkels pass through the wing and into the air filter box right where the ABS is located. So ABS versions have to take a different path - some (most) have a longer 'arm' so they pass through the wing closer to the front of the vehicle, some relocate the air filter using brackets to move it closer to the engine and then come through the wing alongside the air filter box.
Someone will be along with a template and a holesaw soon, I'm sure.

thanks guys i'll send kie a post

as for the non abs thing the fitting i have looks like it goes on the front of the sir filter box (front as in closer to the radiator not window) come up the right side of the box and then takes a right turn out into the wing or guard as you guys may call it,,,,,,,,holding it up it looks like it will go but it does look tight thats why i wasn't sure

    thanks for your help
