The symptoms can be characteristic of an ignition module failing - unless i missed something I don't see that on the list of things played with to date.  I would have checked that first - I had major problems with it in my discos and it even got to the point that the "mechanic" wanted to replace the ECU - I got my handbook out and worked through it and found the ignition module test voltages were all wrong - look here first - then - dissy cap, make sure you have a genuine rotor and then the dizzy pickup - my mechanic also stressed the wires inside the dizzy so they were broken inside but still touching - voltage testing showed up also.
