Good new. My Disco is back on the road today. $280 for a new alternator.
All up $750 for a full service, parts, new alternator and labour. So not too bad and should be ok for quite a while. No more surging and tacho is now working again so appears the alternator was the culprit.
good drills, did they let you keep the old one? if so send it down and I'll rebuild it for you while Im convalessing after my surgery and only hit you for parts...
