True!.....a lot of the products that are "Made in China" are all the same quality.....different prices for different labels and marketing.....

You CAN get some good stuff cheap at Supercheap.....you can also get some Supercrap stuff there.......you need to use your common sense and comparison shop....looking for the same product under different cheap labels........plus point is that Supercheap's returns policy is excellent......so ALWAYS keep the dockets....for EVER + EVER....and if it stuffs up or otherwise dissappoints ....RETURN it!

my supa crap ones been going for 3+ years now... It outlasted a modified Aircompressor unit, but only cause someone forgot it needs lubing..

Has anyone fitted an engine driven compressor to a Defender TD5 fitted with air-con?
I've already got a good electric unit (floating around under the rear seat), but for the sand runs we do (with others), I would like to go with an engine driven unit (with tanks maybe!?).. to make the re-inflating job quicker!

What about Air Tanks such as seen on the very useful U.S website www.expeditionexchange.com .....especially/specifically https://www.expeditionexchange.com/powertank/

It should have been convenient places. There is a bloch welded on where the airline comes in (tucked up out of the way near the firewall outrigger), and a block welded on just behind the door (tight up against the panelling) which mounts an air-chuck and a pressure release valve (both facing straight upwards).

The cheapest air tank if you don't want to make one is from a truck wrecker - they often already have some usable fittings.

I use a tank (15 litre) with an ARB compressor that I have had for years. The compressor that was on the tank (supa-crap) **** itself in minutes and no I am not joking. It was on for a few minutes, actually only testing out the tank.

Anyway, the ARB one has done well for many years, sure it's a bit slow but who cares. Have a beer and relax while you fill your tires. The tank is for running a rattle gun or pressure washer bottle (kero gun) great for cleaning radiator etc after a mud run. Thanks Walker!

What do the dive shops charge to re-fill them?


My set-up is a BOSS (ebay) jobbie with 15L tank, intergrated with existing EAS. 3.5 cfm, 3/4 hp.
I've ditched the original compressor but still have access to 25L @ 135PSI.

Extremely happy - fills tyres rather quickly - under 2mins, even without the tanks.

Bit noisy though and requires decent wiring to operate effectively.
